Delhi to Ganganagar Distance, Time and Route
Detail | Information |
|---|
Distance | About 408 km (depends on your pickup and drop) |
Travel time | Around 8 hours, a little more with long breaks or winter fog |
Highway | NH-9 up to Sirsa, then via Hanumangarh |
Route | Delhi, Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, Hisar, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Hanumangarh, Sri Ganganagar |
Toll tax | Included in your fare |
This is close to a full-day drive, so most people leave Delhi between 5 and 7 am and reach Ganganagar by early afternoon. An early start also gets you past the Bahadurgarh and Rohtak stretch before the morning traffic builds up.
Most of the way to Sirsa is on the wide NH-9 highway and moves well. The last part through Hanumangarh has more local traffic and takes a little longer. In December and January, morning fog is common across Haryana and north Rajasthan, and our drivers slow down when visibility drops.
Food and Rest Stops on the Way
Rohtak (around 70 km from Delhi): Good for breakfast if you leave early.
Hisar (around 165 km): The main halfway stop, with plenty of restaurants and fuel stations.
Sirsa (around 255 km): A good place for lunch before the last stretch.
Two meal stops are normal on this route and cost nothing extra. If you want a longer break, just tell us when you book.

Which Cab Should You Book?
Sedan (Swift Dzire, Aura, Amaze or Xcent): Good for up to 4 people with 3 bags. It's the most affordable way to make this trip, and works well for solo travellers and couples.
SUV (Ertiga, Marazzo, XL6 or Rumion): Six seats and room for 6 bags. On an 8 hour drive, the extra space makes a real difference for families.
SUV Prime (Kia Carens, Innova Crysta or Innova Hybrid): Seven seats, space for 7 bags and a smoother ride. On this route it costs only a little more than an SUV, so it's a good pick for older passengers or anyone who wants to arrive fresh.
Tempo Traveller: For weddings, family functions and larger groups. Call us for a quote, and in wedding season, book at least 15 days ahead.
One-Way or Round Trip?
Book one way if you're staying in Ganganagar or travelling onward from there. You pay only for the drive there, not for the cab's empty return.
Book a round trip if you're coming back to Delhi after a few days. The same cab and driver stay with you for family visits, business meetings or local travel around the city. The round-trip fare covers 816 km and already includes the driver allowance, starting at ₹15,908 for a sedan.
Going Further From Ganganagar?
Many travellers on this route have plans beyond the city. You can keep the same cab and skip the change.

It's known for its green farmland, which the Gang Canal turned from desert into one of the state's main grain-growing areas. Most visitors combine a city stop with a short drive to the border or one of the region's old shrines.
